開源香港常用字體與由Arne 先生的修訂的文鼎中文細明體及楷體現名為 Uming 及 Ukai，其版本 Pre-1 現已完成，並公開下載，這個字體已包括 (1) 香港所有的常用字體 (連香港政府在本年公布而未有字體供應的新增字體有)、(2) 開放源碼的文鼎中文上海細明體及上海楷體 、(3) Firefly 製作的中文 Bitmap Fonts ，字體祗欠香港的 Bitmap fonts。

first of all a big 謝謝你們 for your great work!
Second, I'm happy to announce that I have finally a space at alioth.debian.org for the CJK Unifonts project. This site has many neat features, like bug tracking system, mailing lists, forums, cvs, and many more.

I have already created some forums and a mailinglist for anyone who is interested in the project.
I will move the download location over to the alioth server in the near future.
Third, I have uploaded a testing release of the uming and ukai fonts. Please use these fonts for bug squashing. Just download the fonts from here:

ftp://debian.linux.org.tw/pub/3Anoppix/people/arne/ukai-v0.1-pre1.ttf
and copy them over your existing uming and ukai fonts.
Then just do 'fc-cache' to update the fontconfig cache and 'xset fp rehash' to load the new fonts into the Xserver. For KDE users it might be necessary to log out of the session and restart X.

This page displays png images for all radicals in CJK Basic, Ext. A and Ext.B, as well as the PUA for different fonts.
I will update this site in the next days with new images of the characters which were missing up to now... unfortunately I don't have a Mingliu copy... can someone mail me a link where I can download it? Then I can make png images of the glyphs for comparison.
For discussion about glyph shapes and varients I have set up a forum on the alioth site:

For feature requests, please use the 'Feature tracking system' on the alioth site.
Bug reports for this testing release should not go into the bug tracking system, but rather be discussed on the mailinglist or in the Shape & Varients forum.
This testing release is definetely not the final release yet, I still have some issues to fix in the Latin characters section.
